Billy F. Prince

Billy F. Prince, 82, of Mount Ida, Ark., born July 10, 1928, to the late Cliff and Nell (Jones) Prince in Maulden, Ark., passed away Jan. 25, 2011. After serving in the U.S. Armed Service as a paratrooper, Bill attended Arkansas Tech University. He worked as a civil engineer for the Arkansas Highway Department for 36 years. Bill was an avid fisherman and hunter. He belonged to the Allen Hunt Club, the Montgomery County Council for the Performing Arts, the Heritage House Museum, and was of Baptist faith. After retirement, Bill was instrumental, with the held of many good friends, in the renovations of Roosevelt Auditorium, converting it into the county theater. Besides working with wood, he enjoyed gardening and home life. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Betty Prince; his loving stepfather, Claude Bush; his son, Randy Prince; and his brother, Carl Prince. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Prince; special niece, Kathy Whisehunt along with her husband, Joe and their children, Angela, Blaine, Holly and their families; several nieces and nephews, and many loving friends. A memorial service at Mount Ida First Baptist Church is planned for 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 31, 2011. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church building fund, the Montgomery County Library or the MCCPA.
