John T. Lamier Jr.

Mr. John T. Lanier Jr. died Wednesday, January 26, 2011. He was 87. Mr. Lanier was born in Brinkley, Arkansas, later moving with his family to Forrest City. He attended Swanee Military Academy, Washington & Lee University and served in World War II as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force. He later moved to California where he lived for over 20 years, returning to Forrest City in 1981 following the death of his wife Helen. Family survivors include his wife, Nell Deane Fogg Lanier and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 28, 2011 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. There will be no formal services. Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Forrest City or to the Forrest City Public Library.
