Elisa "Elsie" D. Shelby

Elisa D. "Elsie" Shelby, 81 of Van Buren died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in a local hospital. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Van Buren and a longtime resident of Crawford County. She was preceded in death by parents, Vicente & Consuelo Disonglo and a son, Michael. She is survived by her husband, James B. Shelby of the home; two daughters, Glenda Lee Cupples & husband, Tommy of North Little Rock and Pam Lynn Pixley & husband, Alan of Van Buren; one son, Larry E. Yancey & wife, Sarah of Van Buren; two sister, Belen Sprayberry of Columbia, S.C and Carmencita Ortiz-Ruiz of Manila, Philippines; two brothers, Alberto Disonglo and Antonio Disonglo both of Manila, Phillippines; two grandchildren, Elisa J. Yancey and Larry Yancey Jr. both of Van Buren; and seven great grandchildren. The family will visit with friends from 5-7 p.m., with Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Ocker Memorial Chapel, Van Buren, Arkansas. Mass will be 10 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Van Buren. Interment will be on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 10 a.m., at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, all under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home, Van Buren, Arkansas, with Father Timothy Donnelly, O.S.B., officiating. Pallbearers will be Larry Yancey Jr., Billy Neas, Alex Neas, Patrick Shelby, Dustin Shelby and Randall Moore. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Church c/o Altar Society, 1019 East Pointer Trail, Van Buren, Arkansas 72956 or to Peachtree Hospice, 2910 Jenny Lind, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72903.
