Constance Brown Simpson

CONSTANCE "CONNIE" BROWN SIMPSON, age 86, of North Little Rock, Ark., passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011 at Arkansas Hospice. Born in North Little Rock, she was the daughter of the late Ira Virgil and Mayme Simmons Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Simpson; her brothers, Kenneth Brown, Emmett Brown, and Frank Elmo Brown. Mrs. Simpson is survived by her son, COL (ret.) William Frank Simpson and his wife, Lissa, of North Little Rock; her daughter, Karen Lea Simpson, of North Little Rock. She was MawMaw to Doug Simpson and his fiancé, Leanne Day, of Cabot; Michael Simpson and Michelle Simpson of North Little Rock. She was Granma to Ryan Simpson and Hayley Simpson, also of North Little Rock. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Marjorie Brown, of San Antonio, Texas and a niece, Connie Jo Poole of San Antonio, Texas and nephew, Dennis Brown and his wife, Margie, of Maitland, Fla. Connie was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in North Little Rock. She was retired from the engineering department at Veterans Administration Hospital at Ft. Roots. An avid golfer, Connie finally made it to tee time with Frank. She was a member of North Hills Country Club and Little Rock Women's Golf Association. She graduated from North Little Rock in 1941 and attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and Little Rock Junior College. Visitation will be from 6:30–8:30 p.m. Sunday, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home (501-791-7400) in North Little Rock. Funeral will be at 10 a.m., Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 201 W. 4th Street, North Little Rock, Ark. 72114. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in North Little Rock, Ark.
