Lester Vernon Lynch, age 58, of Bryant, Ark., passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011. He was born Aug. 17, 1952, in Coalinga, Calif., to the late Courtland and Lou Jennie Lynch. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Lester served in Operation Just Cause in Panama and retired in 1999 as a Sergeant First Class after 20 years of service. He received his degree in nursing in 1997 and was employed at the VA Medical Center in Little Rock. Lester served as a medical missionary in Panama from 1990-1993. His hobbies included woodworking and leatherworking. He was a member and church elder at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Benton. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Kathy M. Lynch; two sons, Stephen P. Lynch and fiancé, Maddy Edison and Phillip A. Lynch; and four siblings, Barbara Deering of Minn., Monria Stewart and husband, Bill of California, Steven Lynch and wife, Joann of Arkansas and Rhonda Lynch of California. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step mother, Mildred J. Lynch; and one brother, Courtland Allen Lynch Jr. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander (501)455-1067. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Travis Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
