John Paul Loyd, 75, Jacksonville, Ark. went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, February 25, 2011 in Phoenix, Ariz. He was born in Van Buren, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ollie (Jetton) Loyd, two brothers Winfred Loyd and Aaron Loyd of Van Buren, Ark. He leaves behind his wife Eleanor (Georg), Accident, Md. of 53 years, two sons, Tim (Stephana) Loyd of Maumelle, Chris (Susan) Loyd of Annapolis, Md.; two daughters, Liz (Billy) McCoy, Conway and Kathy (Chuck) Fischer, Jacksonville; 12 grandchildren, one special granddaughter, Lexie Gardner, and one great-grandson; one brother, Marvin (Dian) Loyd of Phoenix, Ariz. and two sisters, Lula (Bill) Farrar, and Sue Yancey of Van Buren. Ark.; and many nieces and nephews. John retired as Master Sergeant after 22 years in the Air Force with overseas duty in Japan, the United Kingdom and Aviano, Italy. Stateside duties were in Washington D.C., Tennessee, Florida, New York, North Carolina and Arkansas. He was still an active real estate agent at Bart Gray Realty, Jacksonville, receiving many recognitions during his 35 years with the firm. John was also an active member and past president of the Jacksonville Lion's Club. John enjoyed spending time at his Greer's Ferry Lake home. He was a volunteer at the Clinton Library and loved to challenge the students about our government on the tour. He never met a stranger and leaves behind a host of friends gathered from around the world. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Jacksonville. Visitation will be at Hope Lutheran, 1904 McArthur Drive, Jacksonville, Arkansas Thursday, March 3, 6 to 8 p.m. and funeral service, Friday, March 4, 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Conger officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hope Lutheran Church. Services have been entrusted to Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home, Searcy, Arkansas.
