Harold Munzmaier

Harold Munzmaier, July 12, 1921 to March 1, 2011 passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his daughter and son-in-law's home in Sanger, Texas. He was born on July 12, 1921 in Dancy Wisconsin, to Albert and Kathrine Munzmaier. He was the youngest of five children. His sisters Frieda, Hilda, Dorothy and Lillian preceded him in death. Harold served in the U.S. Army during WWII in China and Burma. After the war he attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated with a Business Administration degree in 1949. He married Beverly Robinson in 1949. She preceded him in death in 1991. Harold was employed by the A.O. Smith Corp. in Milwaukee for many years. He went back to University of Wisconsin and received a master's degree in 1962. His second career was working for the state of Arkansas income tax division. He retired in 1988. Harold and Beverly moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas after retiring. He was active in SCORE, Elks, and Kiwanis. Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lori Violett and husband Harland of Sanger, Texas, son, Mark Munzmaier and wife Patty of Texarkana, Ark., grandchildren, Todd Shamhart and wife Debbie of Donaldson, Ark., Craig Shamhart and wife Laura of Shawnee, Kan., Kimberly Munzmaier of Texarkana, Ark., three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Harold's life long friend, John Carroll, preceded him in death also. The family would like to give special thanks to Rick Calhoon, Millineam Home Health Care, and Southern Care Home Hospice. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
