William James "Bill" Smith, 69, of Little Rock died Monday, February 28, 2011. Bill was born on April 9, 1941 in Columbus, Nebraska, a son of the late Loretta Pfeifer Smith and William F. Smith. Bill was Past Chairman of the Arkansas Automobile Dealers Association, Pulaski Automobile Dealers Association and the Dealers Election Action Committee. He was named Arkansas Automobile Dealer of the Year in 2001 and was a recipient of Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award. He also was Past Chairman of Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute Foundation (CARTI), served on the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Kidney Foundation and was a supporter of Easter Seals, Prostate Cancer Foundation, Arthritis Foundation, and Driver's Education. Survivors include his wife, Una Hobbs Smith; a son, Adam Harrison Smith; brothers, Robert (Julie) Smith, Michael (Mary) Smith, David Smith, and Terrence (Mary) Smith; Peaches Smith, his faithful furry companion; and a dear friend, Robin Kratzke whose generosity as an organ donor allowed Bill to share more precious time with family and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Friends, Caring Staff and Physicians at Baptist Medical Center and a special heartfelt thanks to the angels of Baptist Extended Care, Unit 10-B for their compassion and love. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2011 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501) 224-8300. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle. Pallbearers will be Jack Caldwell, Loyd Healy, Stuart Healy, Dennis Jungmeyer, Tom Kratzke, Butch Martindill, Gerry Riser, Bob Russell, Ted Smith, Steve Stanley, John Youngblood and Lynn Zeno.
