Grover Short
Grover Lee Short, 84, of Redfield passed away March 2, 2011 in Little Rock; he was born on May 20, 1926 in Bigelow, Arkansas; he was the son of the late Alta J. Short & Ida Evelyn Cherry-Short. Grover was a United States Army Veteran of WWII, and was a devoted Christian who served as a Deacon at Redfield Missionary Baptist Church, and he greatly enjoyed playing music.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Marie Short, a brother, A.J. Short Jr., and a step-son, Cleo Knight. Survivors include his sister, Virginia Nelson of Little Rock, nieces, Wanda (Melvin) Fecher of Hot Springs, Brenda (Kevin) Runner of St. Simon Island, Ga.; Carol Kane of Traskwood; and a nephew, Randy (Cindy) Nelson of Benton; a step-granddaughter, Debbie Buck of Conway; and step-grandsons, Michael Knight, Ricky Knight and all of their children.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Redfield Missionary Baptist Church with Micah Deaton officiating, burial will follow in the Woodson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2011 at Huson Funeral Home on 6400 Mabelvale Pike in Little Rock (one block west of 65th & University).
