Pauline Smith Edmondson

Pauline Smith Edmondson, 87, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at a nursing home in Batesville. She was born Saturday, March 10, 1923 in Pleasant Grove, Arkansas to W. T. (Tommy) and Hattie Ford Smith. She married John W. (Bill) Edmondson, all who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Burnell and Walter Thomas (Tom) Smith; two sisters, Mrs. Burnis Hall and Novell Copeland; and one step-daughter, Geraldine Brack. She had operated a day care in her home and later served as a Foster Grandparent. She enjoyed quilting and needle work and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Bailey and her husband, Joe of Newport; one sister, Nadine Ellis of San Antonio, Texas; a step-daughter, Rosalind Edmondson of Kansas City, Missouri; one step-grandson, Michael Bailey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her caregiver, Louene Simmons. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday with Joe Don Hawthorn officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. Visitation will be on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Dean Hall, Terry Hall, Adler Davis, Clifford Craig, Kenny Gerhardt, and Rick DeFries.
