George Odis Watkins

George Odis Watkins, of Camden, was born November 30, 1915 in Des Arc, Arkansas and died March 3, 2011. He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Vivian Laverne; parents, Hubert Melvin Watkins and Addie Ella Smith Watkins; sister, Lula Anderson; and three brothers, Archie, Harold, and Russell Watkins. He is survived by two daughters, Paige (Jim) Wood of Camden, Ark. and Twyla (Greg) Gossler of Farmerville, La.; granddaughter, Jamie Wood of Camden, Ark.; grandson, Robby Bell of Texarkana, Ark.; three nieces, Sherrill (Gerald) Williams of Cardwell, Mo., Ann (Earl) Haynes of Searcy, Ark., and Marilyn (Bill) Young of Osceola, Ark.; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Watkins was a World War II Veteran having served with the US Army as Staff Sergeant in the Military Police. He was retired from Ouachita Valley Dairy. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday at Proctor Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Philip Salmon will officiate the service.
