Howard Clinton Miller

Howard Clinton Miller Sr., 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday morning, March 4, 2011. He was born September 29, 1932 in DeWitt, Arkansas to William "Bill" and Irene Miller. Carlisle, Arkansas was his home from 1964 until 1992. While in Carlisle, he was a member of First Baptist Church and served on many committees and taught Sunday School. He was the Superintendent of the Carlisle School District from 1964 until 1980. In 1992, he moved to Cabot to be near his grandchildren. He became a member of First Baptist Church of Cabot and taught Sunday School for Senior Adults. In 1998, he joined the family business and became the main projectionist at Silver Screen Theatre. He loved the people he worked with and if a problem needed to be solved, you called Howard. He is survived by his wife, Floy Miller of Cabot; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Wendell Odorizzi of Galveston, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Barbara Miller; a grandson, wife and two great-grandchildren, Clinton, Casie, Zoe, and J.C. Miller of Columbia, South Carolina; one granddaughter, Rebekah Miller of Cabot, one sister, Iolene Sweeney of Texas, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Patsy Miller; parents, Bill and Irene Miller; brother, Boyd Miller; and sister, Bettye Peirsall. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Carlisle Cemetery. Arrangements are by Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen.
