Ronnie Joe Cockman, 57, of Conway, Ark. passed away March 4, 2011 after a 22-month battle with brain cancer. Ronnie was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and preceded in death by his father, Edward Cockman, and his step-father, Troy Tatum. Ronnie is survived by his mother, Charlene Tatum of Conway; step-mother, Alita Cockman of Tull; sister, Connie Tatum Boatman (John) of Conway; brothers Doug Cockman (Crystal) and Johnny Cockman all of Benton. Also left to cherish his memory are nephews Jordan Tatum Boatman of Conway and Tyler Wilson of Benton and two nieces, Sarah and Kelsey Cockman also of Benton. Over the past 25 years, Ronnie lived in Alabama, Utah, Colorado, Florida, and Missouri and had friends from the east to west coasts and would do anything for anybody. Ronnie loved being outdoors and his greatest love was his horses. Ronnie possessed a heart of gold and was loved by many. Visitation will be 6-8 Monday evening and the service will be Tuesday at 11 with Mike Brown officiating at the Ashby Funeral Home Chapel in Benton, Ark. Pallbearers will be Gary Griffis, Don Griffis, Tony Griffis, Dale Griffis, Blake Griffis, and Shane Nelms. The family would like to thank Hospice Home Care and the extended family and friends that were by Ronnie's side during the past months. The family will be at 90 Happy Valley Drive in Conway.
