Jimmy Wilson

JD (Jimmy Dale) Wilson of Cabot, Arkansas passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011. He was born in the farming community of Coy, Arkansas on March 19, 1947 to Arthur (Boss) and Nettie Wilson. JD is survived by his wife, Diane, as well as one daughter, Lisa (Glen) Wilson, two sons, Kevin (Andrea) Wilson and Michael (Christy) Wilson. He will also be greatly missed by his two stepsons, Randy Wedgworth and Jason Wedgworth and his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Benny (Teenie) Wilson of North Little Rock and beloved friend and business partner, Frank Fletcher. JD was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Raymond Earl Wilson. JD possessed a natural wit and charm that endeared him to countless friends and family. Those closest to him enjoyed an amazingly loyal friend, brother, dad, and husband. He was a personality sometimes larger than life, yet humble and honest. His remarkable sense of humor and magnetic personality served him well during his many years in the automotive business. During his career, he was affiliated with Moore Ford, Car Plaza USA, and Frank Fletcher Auto. JD, along with his brothers, developed a love for music as a child. From playing the guitar and singing with the Smokey Road Band as a young man to singing gospel in his later years, music and song were a part of his soul. It is often said of JD that he never met a stranger. Indeed, five minutes in his presence and you would be at home, befriended, and no doubt, be laughing. He was a precious voice that could always bring a smile to any circumstance. To know him was to love him. Visitation for friends and family will be at Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood, Arkansas on Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Lakewood United Church with burial at Mulberry Cemetery in England, Arkansas immediately following.
