Opal Olene Taylor

Opal Olene Taylor, age 95, passed away quietly March 5, 2011 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born November 18, 1915, in Paragould, Arkansas, she was the second daughter of John Henry Taylor and Lyda Brogden Taylor. She was a sister of Eldred Taylor and Mathel Taylor Moore, both deceased. Olene was a school teacher all of her working years, with most of those years spent in the Nashville, Tenn. public schools. When she retired in 1975 and moved to Little Rock, she continued to teach at Saint Edwards Elementary School for several years. Olene was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock where she enjoyed a Sunday School class of caring friends. Olene leaves a niece, Marilyn Moore Saba of Washington state and two nephews, Paul Ernest Moore, Jr. (Linda) of Little Rock, and John Emmet Moore (Ellie) of Springdale. The children of Marilyn, Paul, and John all considered Olene lovingly as an "extra" grandmom. Graveside services are to be held at Linwood Cemetery in Paragould, Green County, Arkansas, on March 9, 2011. Arrangements are with Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, (501) 224-8300.
