Fern Maria Lane Shaw Shaddox of Quitman, passed away Monday, March 7, 2011, at Greenbrier Nursing Home at age 95. Born in Western Grove, Ark. on August 13, 1915, to the late Alec and Maud McDougall Lane, Fern was a member of White Oak Church of Christ. She retired from Conway Human Development Center. Fern was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, June Puloma; her first husband Tom J. Shaw; her second husband, Troy Shaddox; two sisters: Betty Jo Grimes and Anna Fay Lane; a brother, Bud Lane; two half-brothers: Ulyess Lane and Cecil Lane and a half-sister, Tincee Lane. Survivors includer two sons: Tommy L. Shaw (Lou) and T.J. Shaw (Alana) all of Quitman; grandchildren: Judy Vint of Greers Ferry, Sherri Bixler of Little Rock, Rex Shaw of Greenbrier, Rick Puloma and Patti Puloma, both of Conway, Beth Rackley, Summer Reynolds, Brooke Shaw and Savanah Ward all of Quitman; great-grandchildren: Nick Acre, Alexis Brown, Katie Bixler, Ethan Shaw, Ricky Puloma, Sam Puloma, Dominique Taylor, Aliesha Raney, Reagan and Carson Rackley and Roe Reynolds and one great-great-grandson Gage Acre. Fern's family sends special thanks to Hospice Home Care for the excellent care given to their mother. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 10, at Roller McNutt Funeral home in Greenbrier. Interment will follow at McNew Cemetery with Rex Shaw, Rick Puloma, Mike Vint, Lance Reynolds, Jared Rackley and Jed Ward serving as pallbearers.
