Daniel Lingelbach

Daniel Lingelbach, PhD. of Stillwater, Okla. passed away at the Stillwater Medical Center on the morning of March 7th. The memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., March 14, 2011 in the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, Okla. Dan's family lived in Fayetteville, his father George taught Physics at the UofA while his mother Nora taught typing at Springdale High School. Dan taught electrical engineering in the motors lab at the University of Arkansas from 1949-1955. In 1955 they moved to Stillwater, Okla. where he taught at OSU, and various summers working for various research projects with other universities as well as, Boeing, NASA, and DOW Chemical until he retired in 1987. Dan and his wife of 61 years were avid rock hounds, traveling the country attending meetings and holding offices of the American Mineralogical Society and many regional and local groups. He is survived by his wife Ruby and their children; Jean Marie of Wichita, David of Stillwater, Dickey Lynn and his wife Becky of Fayetteville and Dan's brother Clyde and his wife Dorthea of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren, Aaron, Dawn, and daughter, Zoe Lingelbach of Fayetteville; Christi, Alan and son, Conner Galbraith of New York City; Randall, Courtney and daughters, Avery and Brynlee Wiggins of Bella Vista; Melissa, Kevin, and son, Vince Guthrie of Fayetteville; Mason Shoemaker and daughters, Emillia and Savanna of Fayetteville and Jessi Shoemaker of Fayetteville.
