James N. Akers Jr.

James N. Akers Jr. of Banning, Calif. died Friday, February 25, 2011, in San Garonia Memorial Hospital in Banning, Calif. at the age of 69. He was born in Harrison, Ark., September 26, 1941 to Morene and James Akers. He graduated from Harrison High School and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He was associated with his Dad in business in Harrison for a number of years then moved to California where he was involved in the car business for the last 30-35 years. He was a Christian. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Ann Akers Holt. Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Jan and C.E. Hendrix of Horatio, Arkansas; brother-in-law, James Holt of Carlsbad, CA and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mr. Akers will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2011 in the Maplewood Cemetery with Rev.
