Tommy G. Springer, 89, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, March 14, 2011. He was born March 3, 1922 in Cato Community to James Earl and Millie Lee Steed Springer. He was a member of the Orthodox Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He worked for the Veteran Hospital for 35 years and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his son, J. Earl Springer and wife, Becky, of Little Rock; two daughters, Doris Ridlon, of Little Rock and Alvina Hawley and husband, Arthur, of North Little Rock; brother, Rev. James Springer, of Biloxi, Mississippi; grandchildren, Tony, Brian, Matthew, Joseph, Justin, Christine, Jason, John and Carol; and great-grandchildren, Anna, Simeon and Emily. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha E. Springer; son, Jerry Springer; and two sisters, Coga Webb and Dessie Ketchum. Memorials may be made to Fort Roots V.A. Hospital, 2200 Fort Roots, Bldg. 65, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Cato Cemetery.
