Betty Nolen

Betty Nolen, 86, of North Little Rock passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011. She was born July 27, 1924 in England, Arkansas to the late Henderson and Claira Gassaway Slaughter. She worked for Westinghouse for 24 years and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Nolen Cole, of North Little Rock; son, Chris Nolen, of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Vicky Emmerling-Steelman, Jamie Cole, Shelley Cole, Mark Emmerling, Alura, Jason, Angela and Dustin Nolen; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jane West and Ann Phillips, both of North Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan Nolen; daughters, Brenda Ann Nolen and Penny Emmerling; three brothers and three sisters. Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m., Monday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.
