Charles Patrick "Pat" McKewen

Charles Patrick "Pat" McKewen, age 67, died March 18, 2011. He was born July 27, 1943, in DeWitt, to Charles F. and Malee McKewen. Pat was a member of First Baptist Church, former member of Arkansas National Guard from 1963 to 1969, he was a 10 year member of DeWitt Airport Commission, former member of Lions club. He was named employee of the year and good neighbor of the year by the DeWitt Chamber of Commerce, member of the American Legion, 32nd Degree Mason and member of DeWitt Masonic Lodge. He was a Trooper with Arkansas State Police for three years. He currently was a DeWitt City Councilman and retired from Phillips Community College-DeWitt after 33 years. Pat is preceded in death by his father, Charles F. McKewen. Survivors include: Wife, Neva Adams McKewen; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Erin McKewen of Marion; grandsons, Hudson and Sullivan McKewen of Marion; mother, Malee McKewien of DeWitt; brother, Monte (Anna Marie) McKewen of Ethel; and sister, Nadja (Troy) Owens of DeWitt. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Essex Funeral Home, 1405 S. Grandview Dr., DeWitt, Ark. Services are 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, DeWitt, Ark. Burial will be in DeWitt Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or DeWitt City Hospital.
