R. J. HENDERSON, 90, of Little Rock died March 17, 2011. Born Nov. 26, 1920 in Logan County, Ark., he was the son of Roy and Elizabeth Ervin Henderson. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Henderson was an employee of Armour and Company for 23 years and concluded his tenure there as National Sales Manager of Armour-Dial. Later he worked as a food broker in Little Rock as owner and manager of R. J. Henderson Company. He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ, currently with the Central congregation. R.J. was a supporter and encourager of people. He was a loving husband and father and an especially proud grandfather and great-grandfather. Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Connie Buddenberg, he is survived by his wife of 71 years; two daughters, Cheryl Parker and her husband, Cecil, of Katy, Texas and Brenda Chrane of Abilene, Texas; a sister, Shirlie Davis of North Little Rock, Ark.; grandsons, David Chrane and his wife, Donjalea, Kevin Chrane and his wife, Gina, Robert Joseph Parker and his wife, Christi, and Scott David Parker; one granddaughter, Rachael Chrane and great-grandchildren, Erica and Elaina McClure, Kellen, Asher and Rowen Chrane, Kosmo and Cash Chrane, Loulie Margaret Parker and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 21 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth, 5800 W. 12th. Little Rock, (501) 661-9111 with John Phillips, John Gipson and Leon Barnes officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be this afternoon (Sunday) from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
