Theresa Jo (McLaughlin) Shifflet

THERESA JO (McLAUGHLIN) SHIFFLET, of Little Rock, was born on Jan. 3, 1932, and left us to return to her Lord on March 19, 2011. Her husband, James H. Shifflet, and her children, Mark L. Shifflet, and Laura L. Jones, invite you to join them in remembrance and celebration of her life and love. Theresa received her BSN from University of Texas – College of Nursing in 1955. She went on to receive her MSN from Wayne State University. She had a vast career in nursing that included military service in the U.S. Navy, positions with VA hospitals, teaching in a school of nursing, and culminating as the nursing director for Newberry Joy Hospital in Newberry, Michigan, prior to her retirement in 1997. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lucile McLaughlin; her brother, Reid McLaughlin; and two sisters, Louise McLaughlin and Doris Lands. She is cherished and will be missed by her large and loving family. Surviving family members include her husband, James H. Shifflet of Little Rock, Ark.; her son and his family, Mark and Mary Ann Shifflet, David, Michael and Robert of Evansville, Ind.; her daughter and her family, Laura and George Jones, Jordan and Sydnie of North Little Rock, Ark.; her sisters, MaeAdell Roberts of Pasadena, Texas, and Billie Lustgarten of Albuquerque, N.M.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
