Dorothy Jane Hay Sullivan

Dorothy Jane Hay Sullivan, 87, of Little Rock passed away on March 20, 2011. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 23, 1923. She is survived by her husband, Alfred M. Sullivan of Little Rock; sons Pat (Janice) and Michael and daughters Mary Anne and Kathy Sullivan and a host of extended family and friends. Dorothy graduated from Murrell Dobbins AVTS School of the Arts in Philadelphia. With the onset of World War II, Dorothy enlisted and proudly served her country as a Lady Marine. During the war, she met and married the love of her life, Alfred, recently celebrating their 67th anniversary. Dorothy continued to pursue her interest in fine arts through participation in programs at the Little Rock Art Center and UALR. Her impeccable attention to detail, depth and composition is admired by those of all ages who have experienced the world through her eyes and skill. Mom's humility and love of God and family exemplify a courageous standard set for those who are left behind. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m.on Wednesday, March 23rd, at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home, 5800 West 12th, Little Rock, Arkansas (501) 661-9111. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 24th, at Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church, 1003 N. Tyler, Little Rock, Ark. (501)663-8632. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
