Colonel William C. "Bill" Miller of Little Rock relocated to heaven on March 20, 2011. He was born at Portia, Arkansas on April 14, 1925 to the late Fred and Vida Miller. He was married for 54 years to the love of his life, the late Margaret June Kapales Miller. As a little boy Bill was enamored by a state policeman that regularly visited his dad's barber shop. The uniform was so appealing and the mannerism of the officer gave Bill the great desire to be a state policeman and a state policeman he was, beginning his career as a radio operator and retiring as the Director. He had the distinguished honor of having held every rank in the Arkansas State Police. He never lost his love for law enforcement officers. He always thought of you as "his children". He was active in the Police Officers' Association as long as he was able. Bill was a Veteran of World War II, a member of Little Rock's First Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Laverne Bradley Davidson Miller; a son, William C. Miller Jr. and his wife, Sharon; granddaughters, Lisa Miller Barrentine (Ron) of Allen, Texas, Dana Miller Emmons (Trent) of Frisco, Texas and Stacy Miller Dougherty (Bill) of Bryant; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501) 224-8300. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, March 25, at Little Rock's First Baptist Church with Dr. John Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park conducted by the Arkansas State Police. The family would like to say a special thanks to the many doctors and friends who cared for Bill. Special, special thanks to our pharmacist through the years, Phil Judd and his staff at The Drug Store and the staff at Parkway Village Health Center for the excellent care they gave. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Methodist Children's Home, 2002 S. Fillmore Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204; Arkansas Baptist Children's Home, P. O. Box 552, Little Rock, Arkansas 72203; or Arkansas Children's Hospital, 1 Children's Way, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/chenal.
