Ruby Davenport

Ruby Davenport, 77, of Sherwood, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 in Jacksonville, she was born December 25, 1933 in Little Rock, Arkansas; she was the daughter of Horace Crook and Pearl Spann Crook. Ruby was an Executive Legal Secretary for Milton de Jesus Law Firm in Little Rock, where in 2001 she was honored with the Secretary of the Year Award voted by the Pulaski County Bar Association. She is preceded in death by her father, a daughter, and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include her husband, Emmett Davenport; mother, Pearl Crook; sister and brother-in-law, Ruthie and Jimmy Hughes; daughter and son-in-law, Christi and Mike Lytle, a daughter, Geri Dozler; a special aunt, Myrtis Redd; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren with an additional great-grandchild on the way; as well as a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2011 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Sherwood, burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Alexander.
