Elizabeth Sinnette Hampton

Elizabeth "Betsy" Sinnette Hampton, 51, of Little Rock, passed away March 22, 2011, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born January 18, 1960 in Ashland, Kentucky. Betsy graduated from Boyd County (KY) High School in 1978, Eastern Kentucky University in 1981, and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law in 1986. She practiced law with the Center for Arkansas Legal Services for 18 years and then served the past six years as an attorney, senior attorney, and supervisor for the Social Security Administration's Office of Disability and Review. Betsy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Curt Hampton; one son, Joseph Hampton; her mother, Betty Turner Sinnette of Ashland, Kentucky; two brothers, Thomas (Lynn) Sinnette of Bellevue, Nebraska, and Kevin Sinnette of Ashland, Kentucky; one sister, Melanie Sinnette of Ashland, Kentucky; one nephew, Scott McFarlin of Lexington, Kentucky; and two nieces, Shannon Sinnette and Staci Sinnette of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her father, Judge Charles S. Sinnette. The family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses, and other health-care professionals who cared for Betsy during her illness. Special thanks are offered to Dr. Issam Makhoul and his nurses and to the staff of the chemotherapy infusion center at the Rockefeller Cancer Institute at UAMS for their excellent care and many kindnesses. Visitation will be held Friday, March 25, 2011 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock (501) 224-8300. Services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 315 South Hughes Street, Little Rock. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 10201 Highway 5 North, Alexander. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Winthrop P.
