Bettie Belle Cazort Vaughan Emery Stover of Little Rock, formerly of Wynne, Ark., died Thursday, March 24, 2011, at the age of 92. She was born on November 10, 1918, in Lamar, Ark. to Rachel Cora Cline and William Lee Cazort. Mrs. Stover was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Robert M. Vaughan and George Emery, sister, Cornelia Phillips, brothers, Ronald and Lee Cazort. She is survived by her husband, Andrew "Smokey" Stover; her children, Bettie Niswanger, Roberta Cerwinski (John), R. Malone Vaughan (Carol); her loving grandchildren, John Malone, Robert (Shu-Min) and James (Thurka) Cerwinski, Stephen Barry Niswanger (Lila), Susan Malone Walsh, Dr. Nicholas Vaughan and Alex Vaughan; great-grandchildren; Anna Marie "Annie", Jesse, and Stephanie Niswanger, Olivia Walsh, and Lucas, Lea and Gyan Cerwinski. Mrs. Stover was a member of the PEO, the Daughters of the American Revolution and St. James United Methodist Church. She was an insurance agent with Metropolitan Life for several years; chairman for the Cross County campaign of Winthrop Rockefeller for Governor. She retired from the Arkansas Legislative Council in 1983, after 20 years of service. Bettie loved to read and was a wonderful cook. Our mother was loved by all who knew her – especially her husband, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will miss here dearly with all our hearts. A visitation will be held Sunday March 27, 2011 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home. A service will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 W Markham St, Little Rock, Ark. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, 321 Pleasant Valley Dr., Little Rock, Ark. 72205 or to a charity of your choice.
