Bob Self Atkinson

Bob Self Atkinson, 83, of Gurdon, Arkansas passed away March 22, 2011 at his home. Bob was born August 13, 1927 in West Texas but, lived in the Clark County area for the past 30 years. Bob was a Veteran of the Korean War and was a sergeant of the 25th division. He shared many of his war stories with family and friends. He retired from Allied Chemical in California. Bob was one of the first employees of the South Fork truck stop where he was employed for 15 years. Bob was the lone survivor of his generation of Atkinson's. He was better known as"Pop Bob" by the ones that loved him. Bob loved going to the center and visiting with his friends there. This is where he would want to be today, with his family and friends. He is survived by his adopted family Tommy (Stephanie) Potter their children Danica, Amber, Cole, Skye, Rex & Payton and eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Trey, Triston, Sarah, Caleb, Zachary, Briley, and Cruz. He also is survived by Robin Frisby and Tim Wray and many loving friends. The Family will have a Memorial Service Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 1 p.m.at the Faith Mission in Gurdon, Ark. local arrangements under the directions of Pharr Funeral Home of Gurdon.
