Elizabeth Dolly Walker Loyd

Elizabeth "Dolly" Walker Loyd, age 92, died March 24, 2011. She was born in McGehee, Ark., the daughter of Anna Bell Walker and Otto E. Walker. Dolly graduated from McGehee High School and was salutatorian of her class. She was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and Guidon, a sister organization to Scabbard and Blade. She resided in Lake Village, Ark. and taught school in Lake Village for 22 years. Dolly was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma education organization, Lake Chicot Study Club, General Henry Lee Chapter D.A. R., and Lake Village Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Doyne W. Loyd Sr.; parents, Otto and Anna Walker of McGehee; a brother Francis (Pat) Grant Walker of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Anna Louise Buffington of Lake Village, Ark.; and a sister Anna Walker Dimmick of San Fernado, La. She is survived by two sons, Dr. Doyne W. Loyd Jr. and wife Margaret of Pie Town, New Mexico, Dr. J. Walker Loyd and wife, Debbie of Hot Springs Ark.; four grandchildren, Anna Nipper, Helen Dodson, Caroline Loyd, and Emily Loyd and one great-grandson Elliot Nipper Jr. She is also survived by a brother Raymond Bell Walker of Alexandria, La. Visitation will be at Lake Village Baptist Church from 12 noon until 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service at the church. Interment will be at Lake Village Cemetery for the family.
