Faye Norris Scoggins

Arkadelphia, AR, 1917 - 2011

Faye Norris Scoggins, age 93, formerly of Malvern, died Friday, March 25, 2011 in the Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center. She moved to Arkadelphia a while back to be near her family when her health began to decline. Faye was born on Sept. 11, 1917 in Curtis, Ark. (Clark County) to the late Richard and Madie Holloway White. Reared and educated in Curtis, she was a longtime resident of Malvern. Faye was a member of Third Baptist Church, attended the Joy Sunday School Class, and was active in the WMU. She was a homemaker, and in her later years was a sitter for the elderly. For 11 years, Faye's was a familiar face at the Magnolia Cafeteria, a popular local restaurant. In her spare time, she loved to grow flowers and vegetables. Faye was preceded in death by two husbands, Charles Allen Norris in 1966, and Brown Scoggins in 1989. She is survived by two sons, Terry and his wife, Susan Norris of Arkadelphia, and Ronald E. and his wife Kathleen Norris of Springfield, Mo.; by two grandsons, Blake and wife Catherine Norris, and Scott and wife Wendy Norris; one granddaughter, Rhonda and husband Dennis Lyons; five great-grandchildren, Natalie and Grace Lyons, Zach, Caleb, and Braden Norris; four step-children, Steve and Jeff Scoggins, Marilyn Dolittle, and Linda Barrett; 11 step-grandchildren, and 12 step-great-grandchildren. Faye was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2011 in the Rockport Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will precede the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
