Hazel Megison

Hazel Megison, 87, of Mayflower passed from this world March 26, 2011. She was born Mary Ann Dyson, April 16, 1923 in Woodson, Arkansas to Rex Dyson and Marie Williams Dyson. She married Harm Carter in 1944 and gave birth to two children, Janis Ann and Harmon Jr. She moved to Louisiana in 1962 and remarried in 1965. She retired at 62 after running her own business in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana for more than 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Megison; her parents, Marie and Joe Freeman, Rev. Rex and Carolyn Dyson and a half sister, Emily Jean. Survivors are Janis Barnhart of Mayflower; Harmon Carter, Jr. of Redfield; five grandsons, Chris, Jock and Jace Carter of Redfield, Jeremy and Sam Barnhart of Mayflower; five half-brothers, Kenneth, Jim, David, Eddie and Steve Dyson. Hazel donated her body to LSU Medical Services.
