Robert Lee Mays

Robert Lee Mayes, 92, of Camden passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Camden. Mr. Mayes was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and will be remembered for his love of the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Mayes and Gerthe Lusby Shackleford. Mr. Mayes is survived by his wife, Billie Lowery Mayes of Camden, Ark.; his son, Ronnie Mayes and wife, Jena, of Ashland, Ky.; his daughter, Bonnie Baker and husband, Larry of Prescott, Ark.; three granddaughters, Julie Glass and husband, Steven, of Prescott, Ark., Rebekah Mayes of Greenville, S.C., and Rachel Carter and husband, John, of Pineville, Ky.; two great-granddaughters, Kynlee Glass of Prescott, Ark. and Blayklee Glass of Prescott, Ark.; a great-grandson, Will Carter of Pineville, Ky.; and a friend, Butch Keith of Beebe, Ark. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2011.
