Charles Jeffrey Curtis, "Jeff" age 66 of Bryant, Ark. died Dec. 29, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. Jeff was born on May 27, 1945 in Little Rock to Charles Andrew and Jimmye Raye Ramsey Curtis. He was married to Sondra Sue Haile Curtis in 1974. He is survived by his wife, Sondra and their children: Brendan Keith Moore and wife, Kimberly Lynn Moore of Little Rock; Jordan Alexandra Curtis Sherrod and husband, Jordan Duane of Fayetteville; Susan Elisabeth Curtis of Little Rock and father, Andy Curtis of Benton. Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Jimmye Raye Curtis and paternal grandparents, Johnny and Jeffie Curtis of Paron and maternal grandparents, Houston and Minnie Belle Ramsey of Shaw. Jeff graduated from Benton High School in 1963. In 1967 he received a B.A. degree from Henderson State University, where he was president of the Theta Xi Fraternity. In 1986 Jeff earned a master's degree in health services administration from UALR. He did an administrative residency at Baptist Health and served as the night administrator for the Baptist system. Jeff also served as president and CEO of Hot Spring County Medical Center in Malvern, Ark., for over 13 years, ending his career as associate director of operations for Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood, Miss., in May of 2010, due to his health. He was a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and served on the board of the Arkansas Hospital Association. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Ramsey, Curtis Rickard, John Rickard, Art Patrick, Terry Kidd, Scott Curtis, Glen Hickey, Jim Teeter and Russ Harrington. Memorial services at Ashby Funeral Home will be held Jan. 7, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dooley Fowler officiating. In lieu of flowers, Jeff's wishes were to make donations to the Humane Society of Saline County, P.O. Box 305, Benton, Ark. 72018-0305. On line guest book at www.ashbyfuneralhome.com.
