James Ronald Condren

Reverend James Ronald Condren, 72, of Fort Smith, died December 31, 2011 in Rock Hill, S.C. He was born January 19, 1939 in Russellville, Ark. to Holt W. and Minnie Liberto Condren. He was a graduate of Northside High School Class of 1956, Ouachita Baptist University Class of1960, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Bachelor of Divinity in 1963 and Master of Divinity in 1987. He was a member of the Association of Professional Chaplains and the Grand Avenue Baptist Church of Fort Smith. His pastoral experience included First Baptist Church, Ola, Ark., First Baptist Church, Alma, Ark., Indian Hills Baptist Church, North Little Rock, Ark., Glen Park Baptist Church, Memphis, Tenn., and Lee Memorial Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, Ark. He was the founder of Life After Loss Ministries and served as a Chaplain touching the lives of many at hospitals and nursing homes in Little Rock, Fort Smith, and Van Buren, Ark. In his later years, he loved serving as a volunteer for the Helping Hands Ministry of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Condren Allen and her husband Neil of Lake Wylie, S.C.; one son, Rodney Holt Condren of Maumelle, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Courtney 22, Heather 20, Brady 17, Chase 12, Mary 9, Kirsten 23, Claire 16, and Amy 12; two sisters, Darlene Johnson of Hendersonville, Tenn. and Angie Loubbent of Manassas, Va. Funeral Service will be Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Roselawn Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
