Madean Holmes, 47, of Little Rock, transitioned from earth to eternity on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at her home. The "Gospel Angel," Ms. Madean was born July 17, 1964 in Lake Providence, La. to the late Etheldra "Dip" Holmes and Oscar Alford, Sr. She is preceded in death by her mother, Etheldra Holmes; grandmother, Rosa McMillan; uncle Clyde Holmes. She is survived by her father, Oscar Alford Sr.; sisters, Ann Derriston of Jennings, La., Betty Turner of Delhi, La., Vera Holmes of Memphis, Tenn., Gwen Holmes, Bobbie Boatwright, Brenda Thompson, Debora Green all of Little Rock; brothers, Oscar Holmes of Little Rock, Oscar Alford Jr. of Oklahoma; god-brother, Garrison Scott; a host of family and friends.
