Elmer Joe Bowen, 75, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012. He was born May 22, 1936 in Tyronza, Ark., a son of the late Elmer R. and Lucille Smith Bowen. He was a pharmacist and owned Medic Pharmacy for 30 years. After retiring, Joe volunteered at River City Ministries. He was a member of Windsong Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Monnie Ruth Bowen, and one brother, Ted Bowen. He is survived by son, Dr. Eric Bowen and wife, Lori, of Conway; daughter, Andrea Bowen of Little Rock; daughter-in-law Sarah Woodall of Maumelle; three grandchildren, Zach Bowen, Nicole Bowen and Andrew Bowen; step-mother, Dixie Bowen of Harrisburg; three brothers, John Bowen, Tom Bowen and Jack Bowen; and a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 9, 2012 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, 501–224-8300, with John Gipson and Nick Hamilton officiating. Interment will be 3 p.m., at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012 at the funeral home.
