George David Finley

George David Finley, 70, of Benton, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. Mr. Finley was born Dec. 27, 1941, in Pine Bluff, to the late George B. and Willie M. Holly Finley. He was reared and received his education in Pine Bluff, where he graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1960. He attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He also served in the United States National Gaurd for eight years. Mr. Finley was a real estate broker who owned and operated Finley & Associates in Pine Bluff for 35 years. His life career, other than as a Realtor, was centered in various portions of the graphic arts. He served some 15 years as sales manager of the Perdue Printing Company in Pine Bluff. He served Commercial Printing Company of Pine Bluff as a National Account Executive. He also was a National Sales Representative for Magna 1V Prepress Firm in Little Rock. In later years, he was the supervisor of the prepress department at the Arkansas Print Shop located at the Arkansas Correctional Unit at Wrightsville. Mr. Finley attended Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in Benton. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a past Worshipful Master of the Pine Bluff Masonic Lodge No. 69, F.&A.M. He was also a member of the Scottish Rites. He was past President of the Pine Bluff Board of Realtors. He was a past scout master of the boy scout troop at the Boys Industrial School in Pine Bluff. He is survived by his son, David Bryce Finley of Little Rock; a daughter, Leigh Ann Gordon of Russelllville; a foster daughter, Becky Tippitt of Jacksonville; a grandchild, Ayden Lee Gordon; and longtime friend and caretaker, John Dugan of Little Rock. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Rich Hamlin officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
