Clyde Lamar Reece

Clyde Lamar Reece, 81, of McCaskill, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 10, 2012. He was born February 2, 1930 in Big Flat, Arkansas to the late Clyde and Russie Reece. He grew up in Lee County, Arkansas. He received a Purple Heart during his service in the Korean War. He was an Old Mulerider graduating from Southern Arkansas University in 1956. He spent 30 plus years in the field of education. In his retirement years he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, watching and attending sports events, especially basketball. He was a member of Bruce Memorial United Methodist Church in Blevins, Arkansas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Elma Williams, Delphia Johnson, and Mildred Harlan. Lamar is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patsy Clemons Reece; daughter, Vicki Elman of San Dimas, Calif.; granddaughter, Dr. Shana Elman of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Obta Coolidge, Bonnie Rowland, Pat Clifton, Terry Ripper, Dianne; and brother, Glyn Reece. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Bruce Memorial Methodist Church, Blevins. Ark. at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Teeter officiating.
