Jacques Lynn Parker, rice and soybean farmer, age 56, of Carlisle died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 doing what he loved most – farming. He was born Dec. 31, 1955 in Little Rock, Ark. to Otis Sephis and Eunice Pauline Parker. He was a graduate of Carlisle High School in 1974 and the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville in 1978 as an agri business major. Upon graduation, Jacques joined his father and brothers Gary and Dennis Parker at Four Parkers Farm, where he farmed all of his life. Jacques served as a director of the Lonoke County Co-op Board and also the Bayou Meto Water Management Project Board. He was a member of the Hamilton Methodist Church. Jacques had a dedication to hard work, with the family farm always coming first. He loved to travel with his friends on vacation and to sporting events. He was renowned for his grilled steaks, which he enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. Jacques was a solitary man loved by many people. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Jacques is preceded in death by his father, Otis Parker, sister-in-law Carolyn Parker and niece Rachel Parker. He is survived by his mother Pauline Parker and siblings Gary (fiancée Rhonda) Parker, Dennis (Leslee) Parker and Cynthia (Brian) Stack all of Carlisle and Linda (Stan) Walker of Walnut Creek, California; nieces Lena Slazyk, Sara Carter and Sarah Brady Stack; nephews Brandon Parker, Ashley Parker, Todd Walker, Walt Parker and Jacob Stack. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 at Hamilton Methodist Church; Burial at Hamilton Cemetery. Visitation: 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
