Ira B. Brown

Ira B. Brown, 74, of Oxford, Arkansas, was born on April 13, 1937, in Knox, Indiana, son of Peter and Margaret Brown. He departed this life on January 16, 2012, at his home. Ira was united in marriage to Myrna Grace Dittmar on November 10, 1961, at Knox, Indiana. He worked in lawncare and was the caretaker of several cemeteries. Ira loved gardening, his dog Snoopy and sharing the word of God with people. He was of the Christian faith. He leaves to mourn his passing: wife, Myrna Brown of Oxford, Arkansas; two sons, Bill Brown and wife Jessica of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Steven Brown and wife Sharon of Morrilton, Arkansas; one daughter, Machele Ross and husband Brian of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Brody Brown, Justin Lentz and David Piechocki; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Seigle and his parents. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012, 1 p.m., at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. Berlyn Walker officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6-8 p.m., at funeral home. Memorials preferred to the Humane Society.
