Mary Cordell Whittington Steele

Mary Cordell Whittington Steele, born February 15, 1925, died January 16, 2012. She retired as the Purchasing Agent of the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1990. She wrote the column, "Once Around the Block" for The Advance Monticellonian up until her retirement. A memorial service will be held, Friday January 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Springdale, Ark. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mamie Richardson Whittington and her father, Charles Cordell Whittington of Monticello and her sister, Frances Virginia Whittington Klein of Texarkana, Texas. She is survived by her son, Joseph Harden Steele Jr. of Little Rock, Ark. and her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Martha Steele Hoffius and Stowe Hoffius of Springdale, Ark., her nephew, Dr. Cordell L. Klein of Texarkana, Texas and three great-nephews, Whit Klein, Robert Klein and Lindsay Klein all of Little Rock, Ark.
