Charles White Crook

Charles White Crook, 85, of San Clemente, California formerly of Earle, Arkansas died Sunday at his home in San Clemente. Mr. Crook was born on December 28, 1926 in Parkin, Arkansas to Johnnie White Crook and Ollie E. Crook. Mr. Crook was the owner and operator of Crook Pharmacy in Earle for 40 years and member of the Earle First United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. He graduated from Forrest City High School in 1944, The University of Arkansas in 1949 where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. In 1954 he graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Pharmacy. Mr. Crook was the Charter President of the Earle Jaycees and a member of the Earle Rotary Club. He taught Ham Radio to high school students and coached American Legion Baseball. He received a patent for a wind turbine in 6 different countries. An avid duck and turkey hunter, Mr. Crook was a member of Mallard Pond Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie E. Crook Sr. and Johnnie White Crook and two brothers, Ollie E. Crook Jr. and Tommy Crook. He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Crook of San Clemente, Calif.; a daughter, June Crook Mason of San Clemente, Calif.; two sons, Charles Allen Crook of Mountain Home, Ark.; Randall Neil Crook of Oklahoma City, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Jason Crook, Ashley Berkshire, Aubrey Crook, Garrett Crook, Kelly Crook, Ollie Miles Mason, Mary Haden Mason and Adriane Allyn, three great-grandchildren and three sisters, Audrey Crook of Tucson, Ariz.; Mary Ella Clark of Arkadelphia, Ark. and Faye Wood of Jonesboro, Ark. Visitation will be Monday, January 23, 2012, at the Earle First United Methodist Church starting at 10 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. with interment following at 2:00 PM at Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne, Ark.
