Harry W. Broening Jr., 85, of Little Rock, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012. He was born August 13, 1926 in Decatur, Georgia the son of the late Harry Wilson Broening Sr. and Mellie Poe Broening. He served in the United States Navy in World War II and retired from Southwestern Bell after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Pulaski Heights Baptist Church. He is survived by his lovely wife, Joan, to whom he was married for 54 years; two sons, Bill and wife Margo Broening of Cincinnati, Ohio and Daniel Broening of Little Rock; three beautiful grandchildren, Alex, Will and Anna; and one sister, Martha McKelvey and her husband, Billy Ray of Little Rock. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Pulaski Heights Baptist Church, 2200 Kavanaugh Boulevard, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205 with Brother Randy Hyde officiating.
