Louis Sanford Harp

Major Louis Sanford Harp, USAF (Retired), age 89, of Sherwood passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012. He was born April 24, 1922 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late David Carter Harp and Mary Lee Harp. He was a United States Air Force fighter pilot serving during World War II and Korea. He was commander of the 150th Air Police Squadron K-9 Division in Germany. Louis was a proud Daedalian and a member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings; Lloyd Harp, Maggie Arene Cain, and Modene Haynie. He is survived by his loving wife Leah Harp, children; David K. Harp and his wife Sonya, K. Mark Harp, and James M. Harp, grandchildren: Skyler, and Piper Harp, David and Douglas Harp, and Linc Childress; great-grandchildren: David Chance and Catherine Isabella Harp. Visitation will be from 2 until 4 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2012 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
