Audous Eugene Ward

Audous Eugene Ward was born in Conway, Arkansas on August 30, 1950 to Other Audous and Willie Lucille Burroughs Ward, from Damascus, Arkansas. He died on May 1, 2012. He graduated from McClellen High School, in Little Rock, and received a certificate of Accounting at Hot Springs Rehabilitation Institute. He married Thelma Ruth Brittain, from Winterset, Iowa, and they had a daughter, Jeri Michelle Ward Munnerlyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Jimmie Dell Ward. He is survived by his wife, Thelma, of Damascus; daughter, Jeri and her husband Paul Munnerlyn, of Cabot; his beloved grandson, Justin Munnerlyn, of Cabot, with whom he shared a special bond; two sisters, Margaret Lavone and husband Kenneth Russell Screeton of Little Rock and Irian Lavelle French, of Ft. Collins, Colorado; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was one of the founders of Our Way Apartment Complex for the disabled and served on the Board of Directors for many years. He was on the original Rollin' Razorback Wheelchair Basketball team for nine years. He was retired from the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System. He served as a peer counselor and talked to elementary school children about different types of disabilities, and accessibility awareness. He was a member of the Pine Mountain General Baptist Church in Bee Branch, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2012, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, in Greenbrier. His funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2012, at Pine Mountain General Baptist Church, burial will follow in Pine Mountain Cemetery. The family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Pine Mountain Church, Arkansas Children's Hospital or your favorite charity.
