Merle Beth Seemel, 91, of North Little Rock passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Woodland Hills Healthcare Center in Jacksonville, Ark. Merle was born in Batesville, Ark. to the late Agnes Tabitha and Mark Twain Dorsett. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chris (Buddy) Seemel; and a sister, Valeria Ruth Garrett. She graduated from Batesville High School in 1937. She moved to Little Rock in 1942 to work at the Arkansas Ordnance Plant. After the war, she worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She retired in 1983 after working for over 40 years. Merle volunteered at the Hayes Senior Center. She was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church, Telephone Pioneers and Ladies Golf Association. She is survived by her brother, Mark T. Dorsett; nephews, J.T. Garrett, Mark R, Gene and Scott Dorsett; cousins, Venus Randolph and Ted Dorsett; four grandnieces and one grandnephew; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be at 1:p.m., Friday, May 4, 2012 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel (501-791-7400) with Reverend Luke Flesher officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
