Joe Earl Perkins Sr, 67, of East End, Ark. (Saline County) was born Aug. 18, 1944 in Hensley, Ark. went on a big fishing trip with Jesus on Friday, May 4, 2012. He left behind his loving wife, Janie Sue Ball Perkins; daughters, Cindy (David) Stolzer of Conway, Pam (Ronnie) Higgs of Mabelvale; son, Joe E. Perkins Jr. of Little Rock; grandchildren, Jasmine and Stephen Lucas of Bryant, Justin Higgs and Jade Higgs of Mabelvale, Samantha Stolzer and Faith Stolzer of Little Rock and two great-grandsons, Mason and Colton Lucas of Bryant, and a very dear companion, Pooch who followed behind the wheelchair everywhere he went, and a special sister, Judy (Richard) Ford of Redfield, and numerous other family members. In addition to his parents, Mable Rose and Jewel Perkins he was preceded in death by other family members, Wilma, Bobbie and Dickie who passed away as small toddlers before Joe was born. Bobbie and Dickie passed away on the same week, but not the same day. Other deceased family members include, Nancy, Jim and Roy Perkins. Now to very special heart doctors William Rollensfon and mother hen, Joann, he called Joe the energizer bunny without the batteries. Also, Dr. Charles Carttar who was there 24/7 for Joe. No words can describe the care Dr. Carttar gave to Joe, he truly is a man of God with such love he showed to all of us. Joe was a very hard worker who believed in working hard. He loved to cook on his special wood cook stove and he loved flowers and fishing when he could go. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Trinity Baptist Church on Chicot Road in Mabelvale with Bro. Ross Woodberry and Joe's wife Janie Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in East End. Visitation will be Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Joe Perkins Jr., Justin Higgs, David Stolzer, Tim Gyunn, Kenny Cash and Stephen Lucas. Honorary pallbearers will be his great grandsons, Mason and Colton Lucas.
