Thomas Stanley "Tommy" Teague

Thomas Stanley "Tommy" Teague, 61, of Brinkley, died Wednesday, May 2 at his home in Brinkley. Thomas was born July 19, 1950 in Memphis, Tenn. to Barbara L. Brooks-Teague and Marion Teague. Thomas attended school at the Brinkley Public School System in Brinkley, Ark. He was a 1968 graduate of Marian Anderson High School in Brinkley. He was a graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, Ill. Thomas enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1968 until 1970, before being Honorably Discharged. After graduating mortuary school, he served his funeral director/embalmer apprenticeship at Lawrence A. Jones Funeral Home in Kansas City, Mo. He later moved to Chicago, Ill. where he was employed by Taylor Funeral Home as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He returned to Arkansas in 1981 to help his mother run their family funeral business, Branscumb Funeral Home, Inc. He was also a longtime member of the Arkansas Chapter of the National Funeral Director's and Morticians Association. He held Funeral Directors/Embalmers licenses in Arkansas, Illinois and Missouri for more than 38 years. Survivors are his mother, Barbara Brooks-Wallace of Brinkley, Ark.; five sons, Warren (Adrian) of Memphis, Tenn., Cedric (Kim) and Kantrell (Erin) both of Atlanta, Ga.; , Komuny'aka' of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Brandon Chicago, Ill.; three daughters, Sonya of Chicago, Ill., Telly of Kansas City, Mo., and Kristina of Conway, Ark.; his sister Sherra J. (Allen) Wallace-Knott of Little Rock, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; a sister in law, Norma Jean Teague of Brinkley, Ark.; and a host of nephews, nieces cousins and friends. Visitation will be held Monday evening, May 7 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Branscumb Funeral Home Chapel, 911 North Main Street in Brinkley, Ark. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 8 at 1 p.m. at Branscumb Funeral Home Chapel in Brinkley with Reverend Willie Branch Jr. officiating.
