Loyd Hulen Matheny, 83 of Perryville, went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2012. He was born February 3, 1929 to the late Orville and Maude Matheny. Loyd was a retired Postmaster from Bigelow, member of First Baptist Church of Perryville, and was a member of the Mason's Westward Lodge, National League of Postmasters and Korean War veteran. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and he loved his National League family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geraldine Matheny; three children, Debbie Porter (Greg) of Tennessee; Tammy Beck (Brent) of Arkansas, and Alan Matheny (Shelly) of Arkansas; Four sisters, Maurine Taylor, Mary Nuss, JoAnn Riggs, and Carolyn Kenney; six grandchildren, Wendy Porter, Alex Porter, Holly Wright, Whitney Wright (Jared), Brent Beck Jr. (Jessica), Jorgan Beck (Holly), special granddaughter, Mary Lawrence, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Maude Matheny; sisters, Madge DeVice, Monarie Eagle, and Faye Latta, and brothers; Bartus Matheny and Darrell Matheny. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, May 12, at Perryville First Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Stanley officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 11, at the funeral home in Perryville. The family would like to express our deepest thanks and appreciation to Hospice Home Care and special thanks to Steve Harper.
